Overview

Responsible for assigning and monitoring the work of laundry personnel, coordinating linen distribution and processing linen items on an assigned shift, five (5) days a week. Under the direct supervision of the Laundry Manager. This position is subject to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays with a frequent call back at any time with no notice. Responsible for performing minor repairs. The employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.

Responsibilities

Contributes to a positive work environment and the overall team effort of the department.
Assigns and monitors work of others and participates in the evaluation of employee performance.
Assists in the preparation of work scheduled and approves time off.
Monitors production and executes any changes needed.
Calculates linen usage and supply needs for linen exchange, carts, coordinates the loading and distribution of linen carts.
Communicates with other managers within the department regarding Laundry Operations.
Troubleshoots and repairs minor to moderate Laundry equipment.
Subject to call back & responds to emergency situations if called after hours.
Responsible for inventory levels and turning orders into management to maintain proper par levels.
Completes logs and records.
Participates in hospital and departmental training including mandatory in-services.
Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent required

 

LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:
Must have a valid Tennessee Driver's license.

 

EXPERIENCE:
General knowledge of commercial laundry equipment normally required through three months of on the job training. Management skills from the production facility or retail environment a plus. Good people skills.
